Wednesday, July 4th – * NEW TIME *

It’s our 9th Annual WXNA & MNA July 4th BBQ and Parade!

We’ll be starting an hour earlier this year to beat the heat and we’re changing it up this time around and have stubbornly decided to have a Texas BBQ – brisket, potato salad, beans and the whole nine yards.

I could use some help from any other BBQ kings out there; either with prep, smoking or slicing.

We always need volunteers, so please sign up below. It’s takes a lot of work to pull off an event like this and we’ve doubled down this year so please step up.

9:00 a.m. Parade Participants Assemble (Milwood Baptist Church Parking Lot)

9:30 a.m. Parade Begins (Cabana to Eton)

10:00 a.m. Texas BBQ at Balcones District Park

The City of Austin apparently sends written snail mail notices to the Neighborhood Association.

However, there is no notice online (that I can find) that includes when and where the hearings are or the actual text of the proposed ordinances. It seems they’re only available after the City Council approves them. The only online info is here. I have a call into the City Planning and Review Department to attempt to address these issues.
